Canada’s 10 Highest-Paying Tech Jobs in 2025

Tech salaries in Canada keep climbing and so do expectations. Newly released rankings from Nucamp’s July 2025 Salary Report show some roles commanding up to CA$240 000 a year. The message is clear: skills in AI, cloud and cybersecurity are now powerful salary drivers.

The Bigger Picture

Start-ups are chasing efficiency. Enterprises are doubling down on digitisation. In that environment, professionals with rare expertise can secure premium pay. Canada’s push to retain talent in AI, clean energy and cybersecurity has made these areas especially competitive.

“Demand for architects, whether in cloud, software or security, has skyrocketed as companies retool post-pandemic systems,” Nucamp notes. The report surveyed national averages and job listings to gauge real-time earning potential.

Top 10 Tech Roles by 2025 Salary

  1. Software Engineering Manager – up to CA$240 000
  2. Cloud Architect – up to CA$218 000
  3. AI / ML Engineer – up to CA$201 000
  4. Cybersecurity Architect – up to CA$139 000
  5. DevOps Engineer – up to CA$136 000
  6. Solutions Architect – up to CA$135 000
  7. Blockchain Engineer – up to CA$130 000
  8. Full-Stack Developer – up to CA$126 000
  9. Product Manager (Tech) – up to CA$120 000
  10. Data Scientist – up to CA$107 000

Why It Matters

Canada’s tech landscape now extends far beyond coding jobs in Toronto or Vancouver. Roles in infrastructure, automation and platform security are in demand across various sectors, from healthcare to mining. Employers are willing to pay a premium for specialists who can lead teams, secure architecture and deploy AI at scale.

For jobseekers, this is the moment to specialise. For policy-makers, the figures reinforce the case for deeper STEM investment and immigration pathways that prioritise experienced tech talent.
